In fact, Friars Carse is a great place for a leisure break for anyone who likes the outdoors in friendly surroundings. These estate has a long and interesting history. Scotland’s Bard Robert Burns was once a frequent visitor, and you can follow Burns’ footsteps with a visit to our Hermitage. There are also self-catering cottages within its grounds. Our Nith Tearoom and Whistle Restaurant serve Afternoon teas and superb contemporary Scottish cuisine using local produce in season.
