Fishing Beat at Friars Carse

At Friars Carse Hotel, we are lucky enough to have the only beat on the River Nith, which offers a combination of fishing and accommodation.

The Nith is arguably the most productive of the Solway Rivers and the hotel’s own beat, just under 1.5 miles of private salmon, sea trout and grayling fishing from a mixture of pools, provides fishing with fly, spinning or worming plus excellent sport for anglers of all abilities and experience.

A good riverside footpath allows anglers with mobility problems to fish some of the more productive pools without difficulty. Access is via paths leading from the hotel’s parking area.
