Join up with friends at the historic Whistle & Nith Restaurant at Friars Carse. Scotland’s very own Rabbie Burns raised more than a few glasses here in his day! Our kitchen specialises in contemporary Scottish cuisine with a European flair, sourcing local produce in season. Our expert chefs are happy to adapt dishes to most any dietary requirement.
The restaurant is open throughout the week, serving breakfast, afternoon teas (pre-booking required), and dinner daily.
Private dining in our Nith Room is available for groups and parties of up to 18 guests.

Afternoon Teas
Enjoy our traditional afternoon tea in our Nith Suite with spectacular views overlooking the River Nith, served between 12-4pm daily –– 24h pre-booking required. £16.95 per person.

Dinner
Daily 18:00 pm – 20:00 pm
We also serve a changing 3-course table d’hôte menu, available from £34.00 per person for 2 courses or £39.50 per person for 3 courses.†
Our evening menu changes daily, taking advantage of seasonal produce.
Dogs
While Friars Carse is dog-friendly, non-service animals are not allowed in the main dining area. Not to worry though for guests wishing to dine with their best friend, our staff will be happy to set you a table in our lounge or bar! While walking the grounds, we also ask that you keep your dog on a lead as there are free-range guinea fowl and peacocks on the estate.
