Wedding Menus

A menu may be individually tailored to your exact requirements. Please refer to the brochure for a full choice and price guideline.

Food

One choice per course may be selected, plus a choice for vegetarians and other dietary requests (charged at the same rate as adult menu).

Example Wedding Breakfast Menus (2011 Prices)

Menu Suggestion I: Total Menu Price £31.35 per person

  • Fan of Seasonal Melon accompanied by Exotic Fruits £5.75
  • Roast Breast of Chicken stuffed with Haggis with Whiskey & Onion Cream Sauce £17.05
  • Profiteroles with Chocolate Sauce and Fresh Cream £6.55
  • Freshly Brewed Tea and Coffee served with Dinner Mints £2.00


Menu Suggestion II: Total Menu Price £36.15 per person

  • Cream of Tomato Soup with Basil Oil £5.50
  • Roast Sirloin of Angus Beef with Yorkshire Pudding £19.95
  • Fruit Salad in a Brandy Snap Basket topped with Sorbet £5.75
  • Freshly Brewed Tea and Coffee served with Petit Fours £4.95


Children aged 4-13 years are charged at half price for adult menu. 

Children's Menu
Alternatively children under 14 years may choose from the children's menu.

0-3 year olds eat free
4-13 year olds (two courses) £6.95 per child

  • Chicken Nuggets
  • Fish Fingers
  • Sausage, Cheese & Tomato Pizza
  • Pasta with Tomato Sauce

All served with chips and either peas or beans, and followed by ice cream.

You may pre-book a selection of different children's meals.

Example Evening Food Menus:

For your evening function we can advise you on the type of buffet, the quantities and what time to serve it.

We offer a choice from a list of finger food, such as Freshly Prepared Sandwiches, Spinach & Feta Goujons, Spring Rolls, Hot Roasted Chicken Drumsticks, Lamb Samosas, Pizza Slices, BBQ Chicken Wings, etc. from which to design your own menu.

5 choices can be made for £12.00 per person

We also offer Bacon Butties as an alternative. Please refer to the brochure for full information.

Drinks 

Drinks for your daytime function can be packaged per person, and tailored to your individual requirements.

Alternatively you may choose to order drinks by the glass and bottle from the hotel wine list, rather than choose a package.

Drinks Package 1: Price per person £15.00

  • 1 x Arrival Drink (choice of Sherry, Bucks Fizz, Pimms & Lemonade,

  • 1 x Glass of House Wine with the Wedding Breakfast
  • 1 x Glass of Sparkling Wine with the Toast

 

Drinks Package 3: Price per person £20.75

  • 1 x Arrival Drink (choice of Sherry, Bucks Fizz, Pimms & Lemonade,
    Non- Alcoholic Fruit Punch, Alcoholic Fruit Punch and Mulled Wine)
  • 2 x Glasses of House Wine with the Wedding Breakfast
  • 1 x Glass of Sparkling Wine with the Toast

 

Drinks Package 6: Price per person £28.20

  • 1 x Arrival Drink (choice of Sherry, Bucks Fizz, Pimms & Lemonade,
    Non- Alcoholic Fruit Punch, Alcoholic Fruit Punch and Mulled Wine)
  • 3 x Glasses of House Wine with the Wedding Breakfast
  • 1 x Glass of House Champagne with the Toast

 

Terms of Booking:

Minimum numbers of 75 apply to all wedding parties taken on Saturday’s. Minimum Numbers will apply to all chargeable meals (i.e. all persons 4 years of age +)

Should your numbers fall below these numbers, the shortfall will be charged at your adult menu price.

All prices include VAT a the current rate.

All prices listed in the brochure are correct at time of publication, and will be honoured, except where stated. This particularly applies to Drinks Packages and By the Glass and the Wine List, which will be confirmed by March of each year.

Last orders at the Bar are taken at 1am for non-residents of the hotel, and this time is also the end of your entertainment and evening function.

Should you wish to arrange a Firework display (winter months only) for your party, please consult with the wedding co-ordinator, to discuss a suitable site and time (no later than 11pm to finish). The company must be licensed and insured - please request their insurance to be faxed or posted to us.

Public Liability Insurance is required for activities such as Bouncy Castle and Inflatable Games. Please request the operating company fax it to the wedding co-ordinator on 01387 740550.

If you are arranging Chair Covers, Balloons, Flowers, etc. in the hotel on the day prior or the morning of the wedding, please liaise with the wedding co-ordinators regarding a suitable room or space. Returning these items would be your responsibility.

All Accounts are issued 21 days prior and requested for payment 14 days prior. Cancellations are not refundable beyond 14 days prior.

The hotel accepts Credit / Debit Cards of all types (except Diners Club)

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Friars Carse Hotel’

Cancellation of your total wedding booking is subject to the following conditions:
Cancellation of the total event will result in loss of your deposit
Cancellations are deemed to take effect from the date we receive written confirmation from the client
Cancellation of your wedding between 3-6 months prior to your date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the estimated total bill.
Cancellation of your wedding at 3 months or less prior to your date will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the estimated total bill.
