We are hosting a photography retreat for those wishing to improve their photography skills under the instruction of local professional photographer Duncan Ireland. Throughout the weekend you’ll receive expert tutorage to develop your photography technique, style and understanding of the latest technology in photography through a series of presentations and demonstrations. Then you’ll be able to pick up your camera and head out to put theory into practice around Dumfries and Galloway’s uniquely beautiful landscape.

About Duncan Ireland
Duncan is a freelance photographer, based in Moffat, Dumfries and Galloway. He has developed a candid, reportage style capturing a wide range of subject matter from the stunning Scottish landscape to press, wedding and event photography. Duncan’s craft relies on a strong foundation in the fundamentals of exposure, composition and timing, aided by cutting edge technology and a willingness to defy convention to capture eye-catching results.
* Will require a short drive away from Friars Carse Hotel so please be prepared to travel in your own vehicle. In the event of very wet weather an alternative indoor contingency will be prepared.
