Self Catering Accommodation
Our Self-Catering Cottages are two minutes' walk from the hotel and all guests can make full use of the facilities at the hotel.
The Whistle Restaurant, which takes its name from a Burns poem, serves excellent local cuisine and has an extensive wine list.
We have a comfortable lounge and bar where you can enjoy a 'wee dram' and where our friendly staff will look after you.
The River Nith runs through the grounds and in season we can offer our guests a mile of private fishing for sea trout, salmon and grayling. Fishing can be booked in advance direct with the hotel.
We also have a panelled room with a full size snooker table available for the use of our guests. Shooting and golfing are available nearby and can be arranged in advance through the hotel.
Close by are two of Robert Burns' local haunts, firstly our own Burns Hermitage where he apparently used to meet with the lady of the house and write poems! And secondly Ellisland Farm where he used to live, which is open to visitors. It is here that Burns wrote the song Auld Lang Syne.
All the cottages are non smoking.
