Friars Carse is a traditional 19th Century Manor House, set in 45 acres of private gardens and woodlands with a private river near the village of Auldgirth. The Hotel has beautiful woodland and 1 mile of the River Nith that boasts stunning views of the farmland surrounding us.

We are situated amidst the rolling Dumfriesshire hills, adjacent to Ellisland Farm, the home of Robert Burns, a quarter of mile off the A76, 6 miles north of Dumfries, 35 miles from Carlisle and 31 miles from the most famous Gretna Green. 

Friars Carse is an ideal venue for Wedding parties, functions and meetings, catering for intimate and larger wedding parties of up to 70 guests. The grounds are large enough to hold a marquee for up to 300 guests.

The hotel is licensed for Civil Marriages, Civil Partnerships and Naming Ceremonies, in two function suites the largest accommodating up to a maximum of 70 guests and up to 300 in our grounds with a marquee.
