What better place to celebrate the life and works of Robert Burns than in his native country of Scotland and, even better, at Friars Carse which played a part in the bard’s short life. His poetry and humour will provide the entertainment at the hotel’s Burns Supper on the Saturday evening and will be accompanied by good food and company. Why not join us for this annual two night Burns Weekend starting on Friday 19th January 2018. It’s a popular occasion so, to avoid disappointment, we suggest you book early.
Arrive from 3pm onwards on Friday 19th and start unwinding before dining in the hotel’s Whistle Restaurant.
After Saturday morning’s breakfast, you can make your way by car or on foot to neighbouring Ellisland Farm, once the home of Robert Burns. Then, at 6.30pm, everyone will gather for a 3-course Burns Supper hosted by the Dumfries Hoff Club. Of course, there will be the traditional piping of the haggis and a memorable evening of good food, music, banter and Burns recitals and humour.
On the Sunday morning relax over a leisurely breakfast before heading off.
